PMDC has allowed medical and dental universities to reduce the MDCAT passing threshold by up to 3%, to fill seats that remained vacant after the normal merit list was exhausted for the 2025–26 admission session.
This isn't a general lowering of the MDCAT bar. PMDC was explicit that it's a one-time concession, usable only:
Universities aren't required to use it each one decides for itself whether to lower the threshold for its remaining seats.
If you score close to the passing line, don't treat this relaxation as your target. It only kicks in after the regular admission cycle runs its course for seats no one else claimed aim for the real passing percentage (and ideally well above it), not the emergency floor.
