Why this matters
Past papers are how you learn the way the actual exam phrases distractors. Textbook MCQs and academy mock banks reword the same concepts in their own style — usually softer than the real test.
180 MCQs in 3 hours is a different game than untimed practice. Past papers under exam conditions show you where you slow down before exam day reveals it.
Browsing 5 years of past papers tells you the actual weight each chapter has carried — far more useful than the syllabus distribution on paper.
MDCAT has no negative marking, so every question is worth attempting — but only if you finish. Past papers train you to spend time proportionally and arrive at the last MCQ with seconds to spare, not minutes wasted on one.
Past papers run like full mock exams — timed, paced to match the actual exam format, and configured per the issuing board's real rules (for MDCAT-pattern papers: 180 MCQs, 3 hours, no negative marking, per the official PMDC curriculum).
When you submit, you don't just get a score. You see per-subject accuracy, per-chapter mastery, and a chapter-by-chapter review of every question with a step-by-step explanation — not just "the correct answer is C".
Resume any attempt mid-paper. Flag tricky questions. Compare your scores across multiple papers from the same board to see whether you're actually improving or just memorising one year's pattern.
